FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
MIDDLEBURY ANIMAL
HOSPITAL CONTINUES GREEN REVOLUTION
Middlebury, CT
– Middlebury
Animal Hospital
recently completed installation of a digital radiography (x-ray) system. This system allows us to stop using dozens of
gallons of film developing chemicals every year and eliminate the associated
hazardous waste disposal and related environmental impacts. This system allows for better patient care by
decreasing x-ray exposures during each picture.
In addition, since the computer images can be corrected and enhanced,
there is a decreased requirement for frequent retakes. Finally, since there is no physical film
involved, we have much faster access to reviews by radiologists by simply
uploading the images via the internet rather than physically mailing them
out. The lack of film also solves the
storage issues and disposal of used x-ray film concerns.
We would also like to announce that to date we have been
able to generate 23 megawatt hours of clean solar power electricity on the roof
of our animal hospital.
We would strongly encourage
other businesses and individuals to investigate the benefits and feasibility of
generating clean energy and minimizing environmental impact at their businesses
and homes.
